David Chard Senior Design Engineer Email: chard@westmill.com Dave's engineering experience in dryer design has played a pivotal role in Westmill's growth. His knowledge of the veneer drying industry has been gained through careful study and hands-on experience. His expertise and his natural ability to solve problems places him in a select group of veneer dryer engineers. Dave has over 25 years experience in the veneer and lumber drying industries. As project manager he has directed a range of projects including the rebuilding and installation of both lumber dry kilns and veneer dryers and the design and development of numerous retrofits.
Patrick Dronsky General Manager - Operations Email: dronsky@westmill.com A professional engineer with over 10 years of specialized background, Patrick's experience gives Westmill a broader range of service and increased efficiency in design development. Patrick received his Mechanical Engineering degree from the University of British Columbia, 1992. Patrick’s experience includes the following highlights: Project Engineer for 6-deck Jet Dryer and veneer handling system installed at Richmond Plywood (Richmond, BC Canada), the first 6-deck Jet Dryer installed in North America. Project Engineer for two-level infeed / 6-deck Dryer / 2-level outfeed and grading system installed at Carter Holt Harvey, Marsden Point, New Zealand. Design of LVL lay-up systems for Willamette Industries, Albany OR USA and Surya Dumai, Indonesia. Project Management for clients in USA and Canada, including International Paper, Weyerhaeuser, Willamette Industries, and Boise Cascade.
Mike Crondahl President Email: crondahl@westmill.com Mike Crondahl became Westmill's Sales Manager in 1990 and rapidly became involved with all aspects of the business, learning from his father Victor and gradually taking over the load of operating this family business. With Victor's sudden and unexpected death in 1996, Mike, now President and owner, became responsible for the complete control of Westmill Industries Limited. The company has flourishing under Mike's direction and continues to grow in new directions.
Brian Cannon Designer/CAD/Network Support Email: cannon@westmill.com Brian graduated from the Dawson College Institute of Technology (Montreal)in 1978. He has 12 years experience in the panel board industry, and has been with Westmill for over four years, after previously working with Raute and PS&E. He has extensive experience working on dryer rebuilds, utilizing both AutoCAD and 3d Solidworks.
Grace Born Accountant Email: born@westmill.com Grace has been Westmill’s accountant for more than ten years and is also our longest serving employee. Her efficient accounting skills assist Westmill with its day-to-day operations and her friendly smile and attitude help to make Westmill a pleasant place to work. Grace likes to thank the customers who pay their bills on time, which is one of the reasons she likes her job as the accountant at Westmill. She is very proud of Westmill’s products and designs and is glad to be a member of the Westmill team.
Fred Vancek Materials Handling Specialist Email: vancek@westmill.com Westmill Industries is proud to announce that Fred Vancek has joined Westmill’s Engineering team. Mr. Vancek comes to Westmill with over 18 years in the Veneer industry, with extensive experience in design of Green and Dry End materials handling (Raute Wood), as well as panel saw machinery (Globe Machine). The addition of Fred Vancek will help Westmill broaden their product line. Already Westmill has sold Dryer Infeed Accumulators, Dryer Chain Tighteners, Dryer Sequential Unloaders, and Feeder Pinch Wheel conversions due to his immediate impact on Westmill’s design and sales.
Ben Santiago Stacker Specialist Email: santiago@westmill.com Ben Santiago comes to Westmill from Raute Wood, where he was involved in Veneer Stacker design for many years. He also was very involved in the design of the Mecano Veneer Defect Analyzer (automated visual veneer grading) and Patchman (automated veneer patching) systems. Ben also has extensive experience in design of green-end machinery, including Veneer Lathes, Back-Up Rolls. His experience will help Westmill broaden their product line.
